Abstract

This follow-up study aims to analyze and implement a revitalization program for character education through strengthening the learning of the Akhlaq Lil Banin book at the Hidayatul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School in East Lampung. Previous research identified that character education implementation faced obstacles in the form of inconsistent behavior among students aged 10-12 years, with behavioral consistency averaging only 49.5%. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design reinforced by action research elements, conducted over two revitalization cycles involving 25 students, 3 ustadz, and 5 boarding school administrators. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted interactively using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model. Data validity was maintained through technical and source triangulation. The results showed that revitalization through three main strategies strengthening active example-based learning methods, implementing a consistent reward and consequence system, and increasing parental involvement in monitoring students' daily behavior—successfully increased the consistency of students' behavior from an average of 49.5% to 81.25%. These findings provide an empirical contribution to the development of a character education revitalization model based on classical books in the context of elementary-level learning (sabrowi class) at the Hidayatul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School.
