Screening for Plagiarism

  1. Manuscripts submitted to the CILAS Journal will undergo a similarity check using Turnitin software. CILAS will not accept articles suspected of plagiarism or autoplagiarism.

  2. CILAS Journal: is committed to ensuring that all authors are careful and comply with international standards in maintaining academic integrity, particularly regarding plagiarism.
  3. Plagiarism occurs when ideas, data, or statements are taken from another source without proper acknowledgement of the original source. Even if it occurs unintentionally, this act is still considered a serious offense in the academic world and is not tolerated in scientific publications.
  4. When the author uses specific information (names, dates, locations, statistical data, or other detailed information), it is mandatory to include a reference. Exceptions only apply to general knowledge that can be found widely in various sources or is a generally known fact.
  5. When taking ideas from someone else's work, the author is still required to cite the source, even if the idea has been further developed. Ideas can include data interpretations, methodological approaches, or specific conclusions. The author must acknowledge the original source before explaining the development of the idea.
  6. If the author quotes directly from another source, in addition to citing the reference, the author must also use quotation marks. If there are four or more words that are the same in sequence as the original source, then the use of quotation marks is mandatory, because citing the reference alone is not sufficient.
  7. The CILAS Journal highly upholds the principle of academic integrity. The editors have the authority to cancel accepted articles found to violate established regulations. For further information, prospective authors can contact the editorial team at azizikhwan8@gmail.com.
