Publication Ethics
Qur’an and Sunnah Research Journal (QSRJ) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity in all stages of the editorial and publishing process. The journal follows ethical principles commonly recognised in international scholarly publishing and expects all parties involved in publication — including authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers — to uphold professional responsibility and academic honesty.
Responsibilities of Author(s)
Author(s) must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original works and have not been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal or publication platform. Any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, manipulation of citations, or unethical research practice is strictly prohibited.
Authors are responsible for:
- Presenting accurate and authentic research findings
- Properly citing and acknowledging all sources used
- Ensuring that submitted work does not infringe copyright or academic integrity
- Avoiding duplicate publication and self-plagiarism
- Declaring any conflicts of interest relevant to the research
- Ensuring that all listed authors have significantly contributed to the manuscript
If authors discover significant errors in their published work, they must promptly notify the editorial board and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article when necessary.
Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on academic merit, originality, relevance, clarity, and contribution to the field of study. Editorial decisions must not be influenced by the authors’ race, gender, institutional affiliation, nationality, political views, or religious background.
Editors are expected to:
- Conduct fair and unbiased editorial evaluation
- Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts
- Avoid conflicts of interest in editorial handling
- Ensure the integrity of the peer review process
- Take appropriate action in cases of ethical misconduct, plagiarism, or publication malpractice
The editorial board reserves the right to reject, revise, retract, or correct articles when ethical violations are identified.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers assist editors in evaluating the quality, originality, and scholarly contribution of submitted manuscripts. All reviews must be conducted objectively, professionally, and confidentially.
Reviewers are expected to:
- Provide constructive and objective feedback
- Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts under review
- Identify relevant uncited references or possible plagiarism
- Inform editors of any conflict of interest
- Complete reviews within the assigned review period
Reviewers must not use unpublished materials from submitted manuscripts for personal research or academic advantage.
Plagiarism Policy
All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening before entering the peer review process. Manuscripts containing substantial plagiarism, improper citation, fabricated content, or unethical academic conduct will be rejected immediately.
QSRJ may use plagiarism detection software and editorial examination to ensure originality and academic integrity.
Ethical Oversight
Research involving human participants, interviews, observations, or sensitive data should follow appropriate ethical standards and, where necessary, include evidence of ethical approval or participant consent.
Retraction and Correction Policy
The journal reserves the right to retract, correct, or withdraw published articles in cases involving serious ethical violations, plagiarism, fraudulent data, duplicate publication, or major scholarly errors that affect the reliability of the publication.
Publication Integrity
QSRJ is committed to preserving the integrity of academic publishing through transparent editorial management, ethical peer review practices, and responsible dissemination of scholarly research in Qur’anic, Sunnah, and Islamic studies.
