NJIE is published biannually, in March and September, by Nimsya Publisher.

NJIE aims to serve as a scientific forum for researchers, academics, practitioners, and policymakers to disseminate high-quality research findings that contribute to the development of Islamic education theories, practices, and policies in Indonesia and the broader Muslim world. The journal prioritizes manuscripts that demonstrate novelty, methodological rigor, theoretical contribution, and relevance to contemporary educational issues.

Manuscripts submitted must clearly demonstrate relevance to Islamic education and contribute to the advancement of scholarly discourse in the field.

3. General Manuscript Requirements

All manuscripts submitted to NJIE must be original, have not been previously published, and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts should present research findings or scholarly analyses that significantly contribute to the body of knowledge in Islamic education. The journal accepts manuscripts written in English. Authors are responsible for ensuring clarity, coherence, and academic language quality. Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal’s focus, scope, and technical requirements will be desk-rejected prior to the peer-review process.

  • Line spacing: 1.15
  • Margins: standard A4 margins
  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

Authors are strongly advised to use the official NJIE template to ensure consistency in formatting and layout.

5. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized in the following order:

  1. Title

The title should be concise, informative, and reflect the main focus of the study. It should consist of 15–20 words, avoid uncommon abbreviations, and clearly indicate the core issue or research variable.

  1. Author(s) and Affiliation(s)

Include full names of all authors without academic titles, followed by institutional affiliation (department, institution, city, country). One author must be designated as the corresponding author, with a valid email address.

  1. Abstract

The abstract should be written in one paragraph of 200–250 words, clearly summarizing the purpose of the study, research methods, main findings, and significant conclusions. The abstract must be self-contained and understandable without reference to the main text.

  1. Keywords

Provide 3–5 keywords that represent the core concepts of the manuscript. Keywords should be separated by semicolons (;).

6. Introduction

The introduction should explain the background of the study, the significance of the topic, and the rationale for conducting the research. Authors are expected to present a concise review of relevant literature to demonstrate the current state of research and identify gaps or limitations in previous studies.

The introduction should clearly state:

  • The research problem and its urgency
  • The theoretical and empirical context
  • The novelty or contribution of the study
  • The research objectives or research questions

A clear novelty statement or research gap should be presented at the end of this section.

7. Method

This section describes how the research was conducted in sufficient detail to allow replication. It should include:

  • Research design and approach
  • Population and sample or research subjects
  • Data collection techniques and research instruments
  • Data analysis procedures

For qualitative research, authors should explain the role of the researcher, research context, data validation techniques, and duration of the study.

8. Findings and Discussion

Findings

The findings section presents the results of the study objectively and systematically. Authors may divide this section into subsections where necessary. Tables and figures should be properly labeled and referenced in the text.

Discussion

The discussion interprets the findings in relation to research questions, theoretical frameworks, and previous studies. Authors should explain the significance of the results, highlight similarities or differences with existing research, and discuss theoretical and practical implications.

9. Conclusion

The conclusion summarizes the main findings and answers the research objectives. Authors should emphasize the contribution of the study to Islamic education theory or practice and suggest directions for future research. Conclusions should not merely restate the results but provide reflective and integrative insights.

10. Acknowledgments

Acknowledgments may be included to recognize funding sources, institutional support, or individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet authorship criteria.

11. References

NJIE uses APA Style 7th Edition for citations and references. All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list and vice versa. Authors are required to ensure that:

  • At least 80% of references are from scholarly journal articles
  • References are primarily from the last 5–10 years
  • All references are written accurately and consistently

The reference list should be arranged alphabetically.

12. Ethics and Publication Policy

NJIE upholds high standards of publication ethics. Authors must avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and duplicate publication. All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding the journal’s threshold will be rejected.
